We are very excited to invite you to participate in our “Advent Conspiracy” Special Offering – beginning now and continuing through January 7, 2018. This is an amazing opportunity to impact our world, our valley, and our church!
This year, Advent Conspiracy will support the ministry of Journey Church as well as eight other organizations that are doing their part to serve widows, orphans, foster families, victims of human trafficking, and under-resourced families in the Gallatin Valley and around the world.
Last year, we had the privilege of seeing lasting and meaningful work happen in God’s Kingdom because of your generous giving – both in your regular tithing and to this special “Advent Conspiracy” offering.
Will you begin praying now about what God would have you give (over and above your regular giving to Journey) to this Special Offering? How might God want to stretch your faith?
Gratefully, Your Journey Church Leaders
The “Advent Conspiracy” Special Offering is a call to sacrificial giving with a goal of $200,000
and will be received through January 7, 2018.

What’s the Difference Between the “Regular Offering” and this “Special Offering”?
The idea is that our “Regular Offerings” to Journey is a “tithe” (10%) that we set apart and give regularly to the Lord via Journey all throughout the year. Then, from time to time, there are invitations and opportunities to give to the Lord in a sacrificial way. This “Special Offering” is one of those sacrificial occasions that help to stretch us and grow our faith. The challenge around this “Special Offering” is to give a gift over and above what you regularly give to help Journey accomplish what we believe the Lord has in mind for us to accomplish.
How Much Should I Give?
Since the goal is $200,000 this “Special Offering” necessitates that we’re all involved! Please prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift that will stretch your faith. The precise amount you give is between you and God. There are some in our Church who could give a $25,000, $50,000 or even a $100,000 gift. Others will be able to give between $100 and $500. It’s not about equal giving, but equal sacrifice. What amount can you give that will stretch your faith?
Why is the Goal So Large?
When Journey Church started in 2005, we have been a church that has dared to dream big dreams with God for His Kingdom. The nine ministries and organizations supported by this offering are doing some BIG work in our valley and around the world. And what we know is that large, God-sized dreams require big faith and big generosity. Your gifts to this “Special Offering” will determine the size of what Journey is able to accomplish with the Lord.
When Should I Give?
The best time to give will be the first Sunday after you receive this packet. Please pray about making your best gift on that day. However, you can also continue to give until January 7, 2018.
Please be sure to use the Advent Conspiracy envelopes or include a note designating that your gift is for this Special Offering. One way to think about this is that consistent gifts over time add up. A person giving $50 per week over a ten-week period will give $500 to this Special Offering!
Can I Give Online Via Bank Check or Through Auto-Debit?
Yes. When you give at journeyweb.net/give, simply select “Advent Conspiracy” under the “Fund” drop-down menu.
Likewise, you can always use your bank online payment option to send a check directly to the Journey Church Offices. Again, simply mark in the “memo” area that your gift is for the “Advent Conspiracy“ Special Offering.
If you would like to make a special, one-time auto-debit, over and above your regular giving, simply call 922.0190 and speak with Jon or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org — it’s that easy.
Can I Give In-Kind Gifts of Stocks or Bonds?
Of course! Because Journey Church is a 501c3 organization there can be tremendous tax benefits for you by giving in-kind gifts. For information on this type of giving, simply call 922.0190 and speak with Jon or email email@example.com.
Are My Gifts Tax-Deductible?
All gifts to Journey Church, whether via the “Regular Offering” or this “Special Offering”, are completely tax-deductible. Your gift will be deductible in the tax year it was given (i.e. gifts given in 2017 will be deductible on your 2017 taxes). Please be sure to include your name and address when you give so that a receipt can be sent to you for your tax preparations. Of course, you are not required to utilize a tax-deduction for your gift, but it is available for all gifts.
How Did We Arrive at a $200,000 Goal?
The $200,000 goal was set by Journey’s Leadership Team. That represents approximately 6.5 times our regular weekly giving. Obviously, it is a God-sized goal that can only be accomplished through 100% participation and sacrificial giving by everyone across the life of Journey Church. If God sees fit to bless this “Special Offering” in a special way, any amount over and above our goal will be given to Journey’s General Fund to help support our continued ministry and operations.
How Will I Know if We Reach Our Goal?
Please pray for God’s guidance as we all give sacrificially. You will be updated on our giving progress through Journey’s Weekly emails and during our Sunday Worship Gatherings. Reaching this goal will be a tremendous celebration of what we can do together as we stretch our faith under God’s leadership.
