ASH WEDNESDAY – FEBRUARY 14TH
To start the 2018 Lent/Easter season, we’ll have our very own Ash Wednesday event at The Commons on Wednesday, February 14th. We invite you to stop by The Commons any time between 7AM and 2PM to begin your preparation for Easter. We don’t cross ash on your foreheads, but we will take a self-guided, introspective look into our relationship with Jesus.
If you missed the Ash Wednesday worship experience, you can read the document that guided the self-led worship experience here ».
Don’t know a thing about Lent? This is your year to learn! Traditionally, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and occurs 46 days before Easter. It derives its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of adherents as a sign of mourning and repentance to God. The ashes used are typically gathered after the palms from the previous year’s Palm Sunday are burned.
If you have questions, feel free to get in touch with our office anytime Monday – Thursday!
